Believe it or not, “fridge” isn’t short for refrigerator…
See — way back in 1918 — we invented the first electric self-contained refrigerator. This made lugging blocks of ice around a thing of the past for our forefathers. These became so popular, the good citizens of the US called any brand of refrigerator a Frigidaire, or “fridge” for short. Of course, this nickname soon found it’s way across the Atlantic.
Fast-forward 90 years, we’re still designing, building and manufacturing refrigerators, freezers and fridge freezers - still full of American pride.
Make a real fridge the pride of your kitchen.
